"as i walked through the subtropical mountains of kroombit i was consumed by hundreds of leeches, gazed upon water spiders bigger than my hands, heard frog songs which gave me permanent hearing damage, spent a night in a densely stormy jungle whose wet palms trunks were covered by giant yellow slugs and lichen-imitating beetles, searched for endangered animals (we found a few), and witnessed the on going destruction of this breathtaking place by feral animals and cattle owners. these are a few sounds from a unique mountain oasis who the Queensland government is too careless and money-driven to protect, they'd prefer to support asshole farmers who let their hundreds of cattle roam and graze though a very special national park than put in the effort and cash needed protect this unique habitat from cattle, cats, foxes, pigs, cane toads and humans.
but like many ecologically damaged places in Australia, it is still full of treasures of unending beauty and sonic richness. it may not one day.

recorded during a scientific expedition to survey the critically endangered kroombit tinker frog, run by the great and wonderfully Aussie harry hines, a very passionate man working very hard to protect the frogs he loves! many thanks to him and the other volunteers i shared these few unforgettable days with in feb, 2016."

I have searched for years, through the dark ambient, THIS ALBUM "IDEAL" without ever achieving it, and I FINALLY FIND it here today with Nicolas Szczepanik & Juan José Calarco in the collection Unfathomless. They have been able to create an extraordinarily black and mysterious atmosphere while fully preserving the essence, origin and texture of their sounds, unlike many others. My listening experience is totally unusual and the originality of the artists fill me! BRILLIANT! drone2805
