  ~Super excited & honoured to finally be unleashing this eagerly awaited 4 track collaboration EP, between NZ’s much-loved/world-renowned Lo-fi outsider folk musician, Maxine Funke -who seemingly effortlessly produces minimal bedroom recordings that seem to ooze raw emotion and charm, in such a subtle manner .. real sorrow/ beauty & an array of other feelings, which often appear to have an underlying tone of melancholy or isolation to them, to some degree (..Or perhaps that’s just more a reflection on me!?) making it appear easy to do so, armed simply with her gentle voice & a few lines of well-crafted words, or poetry, plus an acoustic guitar & not much else - though on here there's some well placed nature field recordings trickled background echos of wildlife/birds soft/distant sounds of raindrops +perhaps a storm brewing w/ shudders of thunder can be heard that sits nicely next to Maxine's gentle voice & minimal strums of acoustic guitar gestures during instrumental tracks.. AND! on this 2nd ever chem imbal release on brilliant, warm/fuzzy 7” black vinyl!! you’ll hear a first time [recorded] collab. effort on this recording (@ 33RPM, to allow all of ya to hear it in it’s entirety:) w/ fellow kiwi underground figure with an ever-growing catalogue of great, also-Lo fi but often noisey as fuck hi-vol offerings & a regular on chem imbal’s roster; P Wits (go digging! -debut ‘S/T’ mini-LP CDR/ followed up with the ‘Blonde On Blonde' double CS. LP/ & lasts year’s ‘Desire & Pursuit of the Whole' CS. LP/ a wee track featured on our mighty ‘Bad Taste - vol.II’ NZ comp. CS./ various tracks featured on our label CD-R promo samplers/ plus a 3way "Ophelia,Wits,Reid" collab 8” lathe-cut EP [future* c.i.| I.W.R. label co-release, which B.Q co-founded & regularly releases super ltd. editions of highly sort after titles by NZ & international obscure/experimental/etc. acts -release date TBC.] & probably more to come!) probably a tad less known currently, but continues to build a strong profile with a rep for putting on a hellova live performance, mostly amongst guitar wall of noise/avant-rock collective Psychick Witch or more recently with doom-heavy project, Altamont Young.. On ‘Forest Photographer’ Wits’ input, may not be as immediate on 1st spin to listener’s ears, but shows restraint/& diversity from perhaps usual wall-tearing loud gtr feedback blasts, which is a refreshing & an unlikely venture .. but really compliments Maxine well, providing a top notch final product!
